This section supports LDATs to evaluate parenting sessions.
It provides advice on measuring success, and a sample evaluation form is provided for community groups to adapt and use in their community.
Measuring success
Measuring the success of your parenting program allows you to check how you have gone against the objectives that you set at the start.
Parenting activities may aim to influence outcomes relating to either the child, parent, family or community and some activities will address outcomes across a number of categories.
For example, a program that teaches parents how to play with their child in order to improve the child’s listening skills would be categorised as having outcomes relating to both the parent (parent outcome), child (child outcome) and the parent–child relationship (family outcome).
