Once the LDAT has matched appropriate mentee/mentor relationships, the mentee and mentors will be sent a Letter of Acceptance into the program, including each other’s contact details.

Confidentiality around disclosure of the contact details of mentors and mentees needs to be carefully considered. LDATs may wish to restrict contact access to mobile phone numbers.
Introducing mentors and mentees
The first meeting is usually conducted by program staff with the mentor, the mentee and the mentee’s parent or guardian. It gives the mentor and mentee a chance to take part in an activity to build rapport, talk about their hopes and aims for the relationship, and agree on the time and place for the next meeting.
At this meeting it's good idea to complete outstanding paperwork, including signing consent forms and the match agreement.
Depending on the program focus and target group, initial meetings may be one-on-one or in a group setting. It may help to allocate initial match meeting times during recruitment and ask for mentors and mentees to commit to these times. That way the match will get off to the right start.
